Dorado Capital is an independent principal investor focussed on backing experienced management to acquire businesses in Australia. Together with our funding partners, we invest in established profitable businesses with enterprise values ranging from $10 million to $100 million.

Dorado Capital is a generalist and invests in most business sectors. The team has a successful track record in identifying, sourcing, completing, managing and exiting private equity investments across a range of industries. Our point of difference is our speed and flexibility, and our ability to respond very quickly to proposals. We employ a flexible investment approach to working with management and vendors and we aim to align interests to the benefit of all. In our deals, management have a significant financial stake in the company.

We have a strong focus on management buy-outs and management buy-ins, working with the incumbent management team to facilitate a management buy-out, or introducing new management to undertake a management buy-in, or a combination of both (referred to as a "bimbo" or a "buy-in management buy-out". We are also particularly interested in situations which release owners' capital and allowing them to realise part of their shareholding while maintaining an on-going equity stake, together with a management role if appropriate.

While Dorado Capital does not normally get involved in the day-to-day management of its portfolio companies, preferring to leave this to the participating management team, our role is to provide strategic support, with particular focus on:
